Curufin for @feanorianweek.
Inspired by a scene from my fic, What Fades Away.
Excerpt:
Maitimo shook his head, smiling softly as he approached Tyelkormo’s room. He himself was dressed and ready to depart, though he knew it would be some time before his younger brothers were wrangled into their best robes and made presentable.
Maitimo paused with his hand on the door handle, glancing up briefly at the colorful spider hovering above him on the carefully wrought filaments of its web. He was not overly fond of spiders himself, so he understood Makalaurë’s aversion, though he had to admit that it was a magnificent specimen.
Atar had described to Tyelkormo all he knew of the species, remarking on the artistry with which it wove its web, his voice carrying some of the same admiration he expressed when describing the creations of some of the Noldor’s most renowned craftsmen. His appreciation had infected Tyelkormo, who had loudly let it be known that he would not have anyone disturb his guest.
Maitimo pushed the door open and entered the room, and he was immediately struck by the difference in the quality of the air here.
Tyelkormo’s windows were always open, and smells both earthy and airy drifted in along with the singing of birds and the trilling of the insects outside.
His room was what Amil affectionately called an ‘organized mess.’ Tyelkormo seemed determined to bring the outdoors in, having scattered about neatly presented collections of minerals, gemstones, and other natural things that caught his fancy. Charts of pressed flowers and leaves adorned the walls, and scattered around a plant that had long since began to overflow its pot were life-like marble sculptures of forest creatures that Amil had made for him.
Maitimo ducked beneath a wooden bird that hung from the ceiling, its wings slowly flapping so that it bobbed up and down, and he moved deeper into the room. He stopped when a live bird let out a shrill twitter from the window sill and flapped its glossy black wings.
“Good morning,” Maitimo said politely to the bird. Let his brother not accuse him of being rude to his guests.
The bird cocked its head to the side as it watched him, a beady pale yellow eye unblinking.
“Nelyo?” Tyelkormo called out.
Maitimo walked to the bed and pulled back the gauzy netting that surrounded it. The little bells sewn into fabric chimed delicately, and Curufinwë sat back on his heels, his grey eyes going wide as though he had been caught misbehaving.
In each hand he clutched the carved wooden figure of an animal, and there were several more scattered around him on the bed. Though he had reached the age where he proudly proclaimed to anyone who would listen that he was no longer a baby, he did not mind at all when Tyelkormo coddled him and made him toys. Tyelkormo sat cross-legged next to him, whittling away at a chunk of wood that was beginning to take on the likeness of a bear. Wood shavings littered his lap and the bed, and Maitimo shook his head before tying back the netting and crossing his arms over his chest.
“Amil won’t like you doing that on the bed.”
“Then don’t tell her,” Tyelkormo said curtly, though his gaze darted to the open door.
“Amil wants Curvo to have a bath, and you should be getting ready, too.”
“Turko doesn’t want to go to the celebration. Why must he go?” Curufinwë asked, giving Maitimo a guileless look that might very well have worked on Amil, or even Atar.
Maitimo turned to Tyelkormo. “Tyelkormo, what have you been telling him?”
“I was just talking.” Tyelkormo kept his eyes lowered, continuing to whittle at the chunk of wood. “And anyway, I don’t see why I should have to go.”
“Because we’re all going.”
“It’s a minor celebration. No one will miss me.”
Maitimo sighed. Tyelkormo had been invited to the house of Oromë and was eager to join the Vala for a hunt. Though the invitation did not stipulate that he should arrive by any certain time, his excitement over the prospect of spending time with the great hunter made him impatient. The celebration they were to attend seemed to be even more of a chore to him than it normally would be.
When Tyelkormo had expressed his desire to be left behind, though, their father had said that if the rest of them had to suffer through such a tedious gathering then so would Tyelkormo.

What is your absolute all-time favorite idea you’ve ever had?
if you didn't know already, my toxic trait is that i love my own writing and you're about to find out firsthand! the ideas that are my favorite tend to be the more magical ones--i love what i did with the boys time can't capture, i love the velveteen rabbit au, i am still obsessed with my coyote ugly/beauty and the beast mashup. on the other hand, making fall out boy into girls might be genuinely the greatest idea i've ever had--deceptively simple, enduringly brilliant!
What is your favorite part of being a writer? Which parts could you take or leave?
my favorite thing is getting to find out wherever my ideas go! i never know what's going to happen or how a story's going to end. it always takes me places that are so much more rich and rewarding and surprising than i expected when i first embarked. i also love being able to evoke the exact right feeling i'm aiming for! i am aphantasic so describing visual things well in writing is a struggle--i can't really check to see if it's effective?--so i tend to focus more on specific vibes and feelings. it is incredibly satisfying to want reading something to feel a certain way and make that happen.
the part i hate the most is that the energy i use to write is the same energy that my specific career uses. work taps me out and i often have nothing left to write with, and that's sad, because i love being creative much more than i love participating in capitalism! one of the great frustrations of my adult life is that my ideas come in slow and faint, and i so rarely have the emotional space to draw them out and grow them into stories. it feels honestly like a waste.
What is your greatest motivation to write/create?
mostly, because i'm excited about some concept and i want to explore it! sometimes there's something i need to heal, or sometimes i'm interested in an idea like loss & salvage (that one led to the recently completed fic, the house on rosewood lane), or a classic fairy tale trope, or something outrageous pete wentz has said that i simply cannot live with. like many of us, i often write out of the desire to fix something, because i think the source material has gotten it wrong or because i personally don't understand the decisions of a story (in college i fixed cinderella by making her a lesbian). other times, i just love a rom com and i want to do it myself, because farce is delightful. i think i am my most alive and motivated as a writer when there's something transformative i get to do! i love fanworks and writing in established universes because there's a given set of constraints and i have to create something interesting within them, without breaking the rules of the universe or the real history, or breaking them very deliberately and with a purpose. it's a specific type of almost conversational fun, a give and take with the established history and tradition and culture of a thing, that i don't often feel when i'm writing fully original works. (my favorite recent published version of this game is katherine addison's sherlock holmes with angels novel, the angel of the crows.)
What do you wish you knew when you first started out writing?
you know, i am incredibly happy with the way i developed from a tiny kiddo writing novels about kittens lost in airports to who i am as a writer today. i have watched myself identify weaknesses in my style and range and worked to grow and improve, and every step in that process is so valuable, i don't think you can skip ahead! i started posting my writing on the internet 20 years ago and i feel really good about that. i've learned so much and been a part of so many communities. writing is so joyful, and i'm glad i never lost that to the pressure turn it profitable. my work is profoundly un-sellable and i feel pride in that.
maybe something i could have learned sooner is that fanfic doesn't have to be embarrassing; fandom is one of my favorite parts about being who i am and has led to some of my coolest experiences and closest friendships.
What is your favorite story you’ve written to completion? Link it if you’d like and can!
it is so hard to choose, I have so many favorites for so many different reasons! girl out boy will be my most important work forever and the boys time can't capture is my FOB masterwork, but one that i think is really pretty and well done and more understated is the swantrick fairy tale, i'm a wing i'm a prayer. i revisit it often.
(pour one out for my gay pirate au, also! love that story, long may it live in the wayback machine. hope to write a sequel one day)
What is your favorite out of the box quote?
i'm too vain to choose / too wordy to remember. my favorite moments are when i sound enough like pete that i can't quite tell if i've quoted one of his ljs or invented a line.
Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so and how do you personally feel about their ideals?
hmm, maybe evil joe in don't want to be a footnote? he's wicked just for the fun of it. (i'm not, i swear!) i like to think i usually write complicated characters who have at least one shitty opinion / trait i don't endorse.
If you, when you first started writing, met you now, what would younger you think?
oh, i started writing stories before i knew the alphabet. that's a tiny kid! i think she'd be pretty jazzed in general, though the somewhat older version would be very surprised that she didn't publish a novel while in elementary school, become famous, and show everyone who was mean to her how wrong they were, because that was her real plan for many years. any age version would probably feel weird about the powerpoint, though.
i vague-tag whoever feels like doing this, and specifically @leyley09 !

Jesper Fahey Imagine
Jesper x female Reader
This is my first imagine ever. So pls don’t be to harsh😅
Also i m not a native English speaker so if I made horrible mistakes pls tell me nicely🙂
+ I m new to the grishaverse so there is a lot I just made up... again If I made horrible mistakes.. enlighten me 🥰
I wanna post this with he/him and they/them pronouns too. Just so nobody feels left out ✨
The winter air was terrible cold against y/n`s ears. Instinctively, she buried her face further into her scarf. She hated this time of year, especially in ketterdam. Because of the docks and the sea, it was even colder here than in her former home. She came to Ketterdam years ago, but she still didn’t seem to have gotten used to the city. The city with its dark alleys and dangerous corners. She had been told to get a decent job. Never be Outside in the dark. And above all she should Stay Out of the criminal gangs and their streetfights. And yet here she was, running again in the direction of the Crow Club to meet dirtyhands in person.
After the heavy oak door closed behind her, she took a deep breath. The warm air felt wonderful on her skin. There wasn't too much going on in the club tonight. Which pleased her very much.
" well who do we have here? I was afraid that you wouldn't come because of the snowstorm out there. ”Jesper's voice sounded happily through the room. In his hand he was holding a drink that he halfway spilled on his way to her.
Y / N didn't want to admit it, but she was happy to see him. Most of all, she was pleased that he was already a Bit drunk, so she hoped he wouldn't notice how she blushed while he hugged her.
Together they went to a table in a quieter corner of the crow club. Kaz Brekker sat there with his crowcane in his hand and sighed as Y/N and Jesper approached. Shortly afterwards she noticed Inej emerging from the shadows. She quietly sat down next to Kaz, keeping a safe distance as always. Y / N wasn't sure if she was doing it to give Kaz more space or to better protect herself. Y/N sat down next to Nina who was sitting on the other side of the table and apparently had a lot of fun giving a already drunken Mattias more and more alcohol.
Jesper sat down next to Y/N with a loud noise and started talking about his win today. He had lost a lot of money in a few card games and then won the Same Money back again after a round of chess. Inej had to explain the rules to him beforehand and was shocked that he really didn't understand how the game worked. His only luck was that his opponent understood it even less and so he had defeated him after a few rounds despite his moderate knowledge of chess.
Y/N was happy to have this group. For her, it almost felt like she had a found family, a home. The others also appreciated her very much. Nina was glad that there was another Grisha in the group. She loved challenging Y/N to play pranks on the other crow members. Even if the others wouldn't admit it, everyone loved the jokes they made up. Only Kaz usually looked offended when the two kept his people from their serious work.
She had also built up a good relationship with Inej in the two years that she had been part of the crows. Both were rather calm and liked to spend time alone. But they loved to talk about novels and books together. Inej and her had already broken into the library of Ketterdam several times at night to be able to read there in peace. Y / N fondly remembers those evenings. Especially Brekker's red-hot face when he found out what they had done. He was incredibly angry and didn't even let them be on the next mission. Meanwhile, Jesper just stood there, amused. Although he was disappointed in both of them too. But more because they didn't ask him to come along. Inej had smirked at the time and said that he was probably jealous. And to this day Y/N kept thinking about it. She could hardly imagine that he wanted to tag along because of the books.
"Hey are you even listening to me"
Jesper moved his hand up and down in front of her face.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
Y / N knew this wasn't the first time he'd caught her thinking about him. She reached for the glass that Nina had put in front of her nose a few minutes ago. Hopefully that would take his mind off the nervous expression on her face.
"I thought it would be incredible if I would open a bakery with the money. You know the Money i won earlier"
Y/N looked deeper into her glass. In fact, she hadn't noticed what he'd told her. "Hmm interesting. I uh... would not have thought you were the bakery type. "
"Why not?" Jesper started to grin in amusement. Now he was glad that she was just so embarrassed and looking down. She was indeed looking really cute, while trying to come up with a logical answer that hopefully wouldn't hurt his feelings.
“Well you've shot at least 5 people in the last two days. And uh ... "
Jesper had to laugh out loud. "Hey hey little one, I was just kidding. I was Joking... Something like that happens when you don't listen. ”There was a big grin on his face. It felt like it went from one ear to the other. His dark eyes began to glow. Y/N didn't even notice how long the two had been staring at each other. Jesper looked away with a jerk and began to stammer something to himself, “I actually wanted to ask you something. Are we both going to break into that one library tomorrow night? I heard about this one book. And well we could steal it together. "
Y/N just had to grin. Maybe Inej was right after all and Jesper wanted to spend time with her.
"Sure, why not ... but you know that this is illegal?"
"It's only illegal if we get caught"
The next evening they both met below the roofs of Ketterdam's university district. Jesper's hair was disheveled, probably because he had slept until a few minutes ago. The night before had stolen both of their strength. None of them could really remember much. Once again, Nina had endured the most alcohol, but probably only because she was the one who made the others drink. Inej had gone to bed relatively early and in the early morning twilight still heard the singing voices of Matthias and Jesper. Y / N could roughly remember participating in a drinking game. And somehow she thought she had seen a smiling Kaz, but that would be too improbable.
It wasn't quite as cold as the night before, but because of the tiredness Y / N was all the more cold that day. Jesper didn't seem to have any other way. He had wrapped himself deep in his coat and was wearing a much too long scarf around his neck that he had stepped on twice while running. It was unusual for the shooter to be so calm. Most of the time he would talk out loud about his achievements in playing cards or he would consider a daring mission to get rich. He was very talkative, only today he was speechless.
Getting to the library was very easy there was a secured part in the south wing. Valuable writings from Kerch were stored there. But the two were only looking for a novel that would be insignificant for most People. It didn't take long for the two of them to get into the building over the roof of an adjoining building and through its courtyard.
Y / N knew her way around the library halls; after all, she had often come and gone there at night. Jesper ran right behind her, afraid of losing her between the tall bookshelves. It didn't take long for Jesper to find the right book. It was about tales and horror stories that used to be told to children in front of the campfire. Jesper had overheard Inej talking about this book. She had shared how she loved these stories as a child. That seemed like the right book for the right reason
y / n to dare a night break-in. He had longed to spend time alone with her for a long time. He admired her for her courage and caring. Jesper had been alone for a long time. Far from everything that felt like family. But the Crows gave him a home. Kaz was the protector of the crows and Jesper was happy to have someone like him, but somehow the warmth in the crow club was missing. But the warmth was suddenly there when the young grisha girl ran into his arms two years ago. She has been on his mind ever since. How many times had he caught himself paying special attention to her on missions. Or the many times she was turned on by drunkards and he would have loved to draw his revolver. Even now he could only think of her smile.
She had spread her coat on the floor and was tapping the spot next to her. Jesper sat down next to her, grinning, and began to read.
The warm sun shone on Y / N's face. What a nice way to be awakened. Most of the time she woke up by hearing gunshots in the street or the loud talk of seafarers stumbling towards the port. It smelled of old books, dust and leather. Only now did she realize that she was not in her bed. She opened her eyes carefully, hoping not to wake up in a prison or a cargo ship. But her surroundings were not unknown to her, only she had never seen them in this light. Next to her lay Jesper who had embraced her with both arms. She had never seen him so calm before. His chest moved slowly up and down as he breathed. How beautiful he looked.
"You should hire someone to make a portrait of me, believe me that will last longer."
Jesper's eyes were still closed. Y / N's face turned red again. She had to stop looking at him like that.
"Good morning, how did you sleep between so much Important literature?" She tried to distract from the subject.
Jesper opened his eyes and looked at her. Only now did she realize how close they were. He still had his arms around her. Jesper also noticed now what kind of situation they were in. He opened his mouth to answer when Y / N suddenly perceived voices from outside. She put her finger to his lips and turned her head towards the window. There were three library guards in the courtyard. They had just noticed the open window through which Jesper and Y/N had entered the building the night before.
Without thinking further, both started running. If they hurried they could still get outside via the west entrance before the university square is full of students.
Luckily for them it was easy to run through the great hall into the foyer, Jesper tried hard not to pull out his revolver to get them out of the situation, but Y/n insisted that they could flee without getting noticed. But it was too late, the guards had already spotted them. Jesper took Y/N by the hand and the two ran laughing like two school girls through the corridors until they could escape over the balcony of the west wing.
They laughed and hugged. "Oh Jesper that was close"
"Yes, If i had not been there, you would have never made it out of there"
"If you hadn't been there I would have never fallen asleep in there"
"That's right, but then I would never have been able to do this either."
He leaned over to her and looked at her with an asking expression. For a moment he was afraid of having lost his self-confidence. He wondered if he had misinterpreted anything. All the times she looked at him with a blushing face and glowing eyes. Maybe he was just wrong ...
But He couldn't think clearly anymore because he had already been interrupted by Y / N's lips. At that moment they both forgot everything around them. The dirty city, the cold winter air and the screams of the guards who were still looking for them.
Fuck, I think that's how it feels at home.
Thx for reading this😅 if you liked it pls write a comment. Just so i know if i should continue writing or not✨ if somebody has a request for an imagine just comment it or text me in my direct messages 🥰💗

chan’s question.
stray kids 9th member au,, m.list
kirei's life as a trainee hasn't been the easiest, the ceo doesn't seem to know who she is and hasn't had any luck with debut. so when chan gives her an opportunity that could change her life, will she take it?
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
the trainee life was not an easy one, kirei knew that. she knew what she was getting into when she signed a contract with one of the top agencies in korea. perhaps if kirei had been a little older when she was scouted, she wouldn't have signed it. but being merely 14 years old, kirei convinced her parents to let her do it.
it was on days like today that kirei wished she had listened to her parents. they had told her that the chance of actually getting to debut was slim, and that training for something she'd likely never achieve would make her suffer. and they were right.
the girl had been training for nearly 4 years now, and had never even gotten close to the chance to debut. she wasn't chosen to participate in sixteen, and watched all of her friends debut in a girl group who was extremely succesful. and today, her dreams had been crushed once more.
today was the day that the ceo had announced who would be in the female debut team for his upcoming survival show. and unlike what kirei had expected, she wasn't chosen.
sometimes she wondered if the ceo even knew who she was, she had been training for years and not once had she been acknowledged by him. sure she recieved a lot of praise from her fellow trainees and occasionally her trainers, but never from the ceo himself.
kirei had been sitting in the practice room for almost an hour, reflecting on her 4 years of practice that had seemingly been a waste of time.
i've sat here and watched my friends debut, not once but twice. never once has the ceo noticed me, so what's the point in enduring more years of pointless training?
kirei thought to herself. she had thought of quiting before, but always held on to the little bit of hope that she'd one day have her chance. this time, she wanted to quit for good.
the 18 year old was too immersed into her negative thougts that she didn't even notice someone enter the practice room. it was the tap on her shoulder that snapped her out of it.
"rei, you okay?"
the brunette looked up from her sitting position on the floor and saw chan standing over her with a worried look on his face. kirei smiled at the sight of him.
chan had been a friend of kirei since she first started training. he had helped her out with dance practice or vocal training for as long as she could remember, and they had grown to become close friends over the years. he was the one of the only reasons kirei felt motivated to continue. knowing he had been training for 7 years already, she felt bad for complaining.
"not really, but i'll get over it"
the older boy frowned and took a seat next to kirei, who was sitting cross legged in front of the practice mirror just staring at herself. chan really cared for her, she was like his younger sister. even though he already had one back in australia, kirei was like a replacement.
"well go on then, talk"
kirei took a deep, heavy breath before she broke eyecontact with her reflection. she turned to head to make eyecontact with chan. she was the one person in korea she told everything to, so she knew she would have to tell him about her worries.
"jyp just announced the members of the female debut team for his survival show. and as usual i-"
kirei wasn't able to finish her sentence as she was cut off by chan.
"and you weren't chosen."
kirei looked at him confused as to how he knew already. the announcement had taken place during a female training just over an hour ago, so the boys shouldn't know yet. chan read the confused look on the brunnette's face and continued.
"i was filling up my water bottle when the debut team came out of your practice room cheering and screaming out loud that they were getting a chance to debut. i noticed you weren't apart of them so that's why i came here, to check up on you."
kirei looked at him and nodded, a weak smile appearing on her face. this is why she appreciated chan so much, he did so much for her and took such great care of her which often made her feel like she didn't deserve to have him as a friend.
"well thank you, i appreciate it. but like i said, i'll get over it"
chan didn't say anything this time. he knew her too well, he knew that she wouldn't get over it. he knew that from today onwards she would be beating herself up for not working hard enough, which to chan was not true. kirei was one of the most hardworking people he knew, he didn't understand why she had gotten no recognition from jyp.
a silence came over the practice room, neither of them really knowing what to say. kirei decided to change the subject, wanting nothing more than to get rid of the gloomy atmosphere she had caused.
"what about the male debut team? did jyp announce it yet?"
despite having not being chosen for the female group, kirei badly wanted chan to get picked for the male team. he had been working hard for 7 years straight and deserved to be rewarded.
a grin came over chan's face, his head twitching slightly. he looked over at kirei who seemed to be dying to know what his response would be.
"actually, jyp wants me to put together a team. meaning i get to choose whoever i want to be apart of it."
kirei nodded, she thought that the concept was cool but didn't understand why jyp didn't do that with the female team. maybe then she would have had a better chance.
"so who are you thinking of choosing then?"
the girl hoped to hear some names she would recognize. she wasn't very familiar with the male trainees, but she knew some of them.
"i have a team in mind actually, i'm not sure you know many of them. but i think you'll be happy to know that i'm recruiting felix."
upon hearing that last part, kirei's worries went to the back of her head and joy overcame her entire body. she had been helping felix out ever since he became a trainee, and to hear that he would be getting a chance to debut made her so proud and happy for him.
"are you serious!? oh my god chan, that's amazing."
the boy laughed and watched kirei get excited. he was glad to see her in a good mood after what had gone down that day. once kirei calmed down a little, chan decided to speak again.
"i also came here to ask you something."
kirei's head turned towards chan. she nodded, letting him know that he could continue. chan took a pause and stared into the mirror for a good 10 seconds before looking back at kirei. the girl was confused, he seemed like he wasn't sure of something.
"i want you to be apart of my team."
kirei's mouth opened ever so slightly. she was taken aback by chan's request, it wasn't something she expected at all. his brows raised a little, he seemed to be waiting for the girl to say something, anything.
"i- uh, i don't know what to say."
another moment of silence invaded the practice room, this time neither of them sure of what to say. kirei stood up from her sitting position on the floor.
"you want me- a girl- to be in a male team? do you know how crazy that sounds? there is no way on earth jyp is agreeing to that."
chan stood up as well, grabbing her arm.
"kirei, you are one of the most talented people in this agency. if you continue like this, you'll either never debut or jyp will just waste your talent somewhere else. this is your time, i know it is."
kirei looked down. how on earth would she be able to keep up with all of the male trainees? she has seen them practice before and was aware of how intense their practices were. besides, she was a girl. just because chan wants this doesn't mean his teammates will.
"i don't know chan, i really don't."
chan grabbed her other arm and changed his grip to her shoulders.
"i have an extremely strong arguement if jyp is opposed, i promise you i will make this happen. i just need you to say yes."
kirei thought for moment. chan was right, when would she ever get an opportunity like this ever again? likely never. her talent would be wasted considering the ceo barely notices her. she knew that this wouldn't be an easy journey, but kirei trusted chan. which is why she didn't hesitate in her answer.
"okay. i'll do it. i'll be apart of you team."

WHO Philippines promotes UHC through Walk the Talk Manila
MANILA, 15 September 2019 – World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines organized the first “Walk the Talk Manila: The Health for All Challenge” in Alabang as part of the global Health for All Challenge. The event brought together 2,000 people from all walks of life to highlight universal health care, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Participants ran, walked, and biked in 3 kilometer, 5 kilometer, and 10 kilometer distances. The non-competitive event was open to all ages and abilities and was free-of-charge.
Glad to have participated to this kind of fun run with a purpose. Witnessed people with disabilities running with so much eagerness and passion.. It inspires me to be more positive and be goal-oriented. Yesterday, we were able to celebrate life again.
I am very much impressed how an individual can be so much physically active despite the struggles such as being too youn, being too old, being disabled physically and mentally.
I'm proud of this young teenager who keeps on running until the finish line. He even gave me a big hug and a tap on my shoulders after we finished the line together.
Since 2018, WHO has led Walk the Talk events with participation from partners around the world. In May this year, WHO headquarters hosted the Walk the Talk in Geneva in parallel to the World Health Assembly, while the New York leg will be happening on 22 September 2019 on the eve of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the High-level Meeting (HLM) on UHC.
“Walk the Talk Manila is the first of its kind in the Philippines,” said acting WHO Representative in the Philippines Dr Rabindra Abeyasinghe. “By coming together today, a week before the High-level Meeting on UHC, and the adoption of R.A. 11223 in the Philippines on UHC, WHO together with the Government of the Philippines is sending a strong message from Manila to New York that we are one with the global advocacy towards health for all.”
The Philippines will be sending delegates to the UNGA and the HLM, led by the Secretary of Health Francisco Duque III.
The Philippine Government, through the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and local government units, has been leading the way since the enactment of the landmark Universal Health Care (UHC) Act or Republic Act No. 11223 on 20 February 2019. The landmark measure showed the political commitment of the Philippines to provide access to quality health care for all Filipinos, without suffering financial hardship. The law automatically enrolls all Filipinos in the National Health Insurance Program and prescribes complementary reforms in the health system. Among the significant reforms proposed under this law, are lowering of out-of-pocket health expenses and improvement of health services and facilities.
WHO supported the DOH, PhilHealth and the Philippine Congress during the legislative process of the UHC Act. WHO is also supporting the DOH and PhilHealth as they finalize the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the law as well as the operations of the UHC integration sites.

Yo! I'm a heterosexual male, I'm 5"5, I'm quite intelligent in some subjects but most of the time, I'm quite dull and unable to understand a few topics. As for my personality, I can be quite chilled out and layed back but I'm quick to anger. Sorry if this isn't much to come off by but I want to see how this particular blog works so if you would match me up with someone, that'd be awesome
Apparently, really, really slow! :D
Ok, I know I say this every time so it’s probably not very believable anymore, but… sorry? I let you wait for an awfully long time, even though I once decided to never take longer than a week… Yeah, that worked out…
But I’m glad I finally get to reply to your request – although it really wasn’t much, so I had to add a lot of… let’s call them “anon headcanons”. Or should I say: head c-anon-s? (I am sorry :D)
I’ll also try to write at least one matchup a day during my break, but… yeah, we’ll see how that goes.
I match you with… Ochako Uraraka!
It was a warm, sunny day and the plaza was stuffed with people, all waiting in line eagerly and hours on end for a single picture with their favorite hero, the chance to tell them your name, the slight hope they’d actually remember. It was one of the many conventions that had started to take place all over the world as heroes became popular, but the one in Musutafu probably overshadowed them all. It was very loud, most visitors who were lucky enough to get a ticket speaking excitedly over this and that, which hero they looked forward to meeting the most, rumors they had heard about special guests, the shows and events and panels that would took place. The few of your friends that came here with you were especially focused on latter one. As aspiring heroes yourself, from a smaller academy around and hour outside the city, you had your mind set on getting to meet some of the students of UA itself, which were to hold a panel this year. This rare occasion had drawn the attention of thousands of people – so many in fact that the organizers had to give special passes for the few lucky ones away through drawing lots. They didn’t want the students to be faced with too many people. And it just so happened that you through the favor of some divine being were one of the chosen ones. Your friends wouldn’t shut up about how you had to ask certain questions for them, how you were obliged to tell them everything, how you needed to take as many pictures as you were allowed. It was one set for the late afternoon of the first day, but you already knew, you wouldn’t be able to get it out of your head till then.
The air inside was stiff and the heat was even worse, but the excitement of everyone made up for it and you were able to enjoy the day – stressful as it was – to its full extend. As the time grew closer and you said goodbye to your friends, you could feel yourself brim with enthusiasm. You got a seat rather at the back of the room, but you had a good view and couldn’t complain. A group of people around your age sat in front of you, talking with lowered voices. You could only make out some of the words you heard but they, together with how oddly familiar the backs of their head looked, made you sure you had seen them before. At the mention of “Amajiki-senpai” and “Aizawa-sensei” you leaned forward and tapped on one of the boys shoulders. He turned around, small eyes and a gentle smile fixing on you. “Sorry to interrupt, but are you guys UA students?” “Psst!”, a girl with pink skin wearing sunglasses and a weird snapback waved her arms around dramatically. “We’re not supposed to be here, no one must know!” “Well… maybe you shouldn’t talk about your school so loud then?”, you offered. But there weren’t many people this far at the back yet, so you probably were fine. “We came to see Bakugo!” A red haired boy with pointy teeth smiled at you. Apparently, most of the class was here (although you couldn’t exactly remember who belonged to which class or even was a student for that matter). “Isn’t he the one that won the festival?”, you asked, “He seemed very… extreme. Is it a good idea to let him participate in a panel?” “It will be fine,“ red head smiled even brighter, although it didn’t seem physically possible. “He’s actually not all that bad… although he has a very, very rough shell…” The girl that spoke was small and bright, her brown hair and big eyes and round face nearly glowing. You felt a blush creep up your neck. You remembered her, but you couldn’t recall her name. It surprised you that she specifically would defend the dude who had messed her up so bad.
The panel was a mess. There was a lot of yelling from that Bakugo, a lot of blushing and awkward silence by a black haired boy who seemed extremely uncomfortable being there, a fight that nearly broke out between to third years about which of their teachers could beat who’s ass and a general chaos. You found yourself leaning to the bright girl somewhere in the middle, asking her if it was always like this at UA, which first caused her to jump and then to giggle quietly. She was adorable.
You lost sight of her as the panel ended and the UA students disappeared through a side door. When your friends, who awaited you outside, asked about the panel, you found yourself unable to recall much more than two glowing eyes.
You stuck around after the convention for a few more days, exploring the city with you friends, following the paths of some of the most famous heroes and going sightseeing. There seemed to be an unusual amount of criminal activity and you got to witness multiple pros in action. You got very caught up in the fast live of the city and the whole incident moved to the back of your head, until one day – shortly before your departure – a voice from the other side of the street called out to you. Apparently. At first you didn’t exactly react to the title “panel guy”, who would? But as you turned in curiosity and saw her, standing next to a green haired boy and another one in glasses apparently telling her off for yelling in public, you froze in place. She waved at you happily, as if you had been friends for years, and signaled you to come over. That’s how you actually met Ochako for the first time.
Her cheery and open attitude it captivating, it’s hard not to become friends with her when she sets her mind to it, so you got along with her very quickly. Of course you couldn’t stay in Musutafu, but you managed to stay in contact. Occasional texts became a habit became a friendship that became more. You went to visit her as often as you could and it was your concern for her safety that made her fall for you. She openly talks with you about everything, so you also know about the light crush she apparently had had on Midoriya for a while, which made you insecure for a while.
Just like you, she has a very particular intelligence. While she is indisputably clever, she doesn’t rank high in every class while she absolutely excels in others. Her bubbly personality can switch to a much calmer, much relaxer state when she’s in a comfortable, not stressful environment. She can be a handful sometimes though, as deep underneath the loving and friendly attitude hides a competitive and strong will. Her experience in hand to hand combat has also caught you by surprise at times.
The good thing is that she can absolutely handle you getting angry at times. Whether it be at you, at her, at someone else or a situation, she can take it and either wait for you to cool down or help you work through it. She would never let you use her as a punching bag though, which is good because you can always trust on her to stop you were you to go too far. Ochako doesn’t take shit from anyone.
Altogether, she is an extremely reliable girlfriend and valuable companion in every life situation. She can be as thoughtful as a psychologist or soft as cotton candy – whichever the situation calls for. She makes for a stable, happy but also supportive relationship.
